Our approach

Operators, not theorists.

We don't advise from a theoretical frame: we have run, financed, structured and sold companies. This page explains how we work, and why it changes the outcome.

01 · Where we come from

We've sat on your side of the table.

Simon Bertrand co-founded and led Rise Kombucha across 17 years: from the first tank to a national brand, through fundraising rounds, production lines, cash crunches dodged at the last minute and executive committees going off the rails. André Barsalou built and operated his own businesses for more than 15 years.

That experience changes the nature of the advice. We don't deliver a 200-slide report: we look for the lever that frees up cash, the decision that moves the executive committee forward, the plan your team can actually execute on Monday morning. Because we have had to do it ourselves, with our own numbers and our own employees.

  • Operators, not juniors with a deck: the partners who sell the mandate are the ones who deliver it.
  • Operable deliverables: built to live in your leadership meetings, not in a binder.
  • A deliberate niche: food, beverage and consumer SMEs in Québec.
Meet the partners
1
Understand before recommending.

Every mandate starts from your real numbers and your real constraints, never from a prefabricated solution.

2
Say the hard things.

If the problem is an unprofitable product, the wrong person in a key seat or a decision postponed for two years, we name it. That is what you are paying for.

3
Refer when it isn't our trade.

Tax, legal, regulatory compliance: we frame the issue, then point you to the right specialists.

02 · The method

Understand. Transform. Hold the course.

Take back control of the business you built: every client follows the same three-part path, with named deliverables, a written frame and a custom quote, never surprise billing.

Control loop: we measure, we adjust, we decide 01 Understand Diagnostic Pilotage PME 02 Transform Mandate & advisory 03 Hold the course Retention & fractional leadership
01

Understand

The Diagnostic Pilotage PME, our entry-point engagement, establishes where your business really stands: finance, cash flow, governance, productivity, team alignment. You leave with 3 to 5 prioritized levers and a 90-day roadmap.

The Diagnostic
02

Transform

The Momentum Mandate and growth advisory take on the next milestone: financing, strategic plan, department structuring, realignment. We build with you, track execution, adjust.

The Mandate
03

Hold the course

Fractional leadership and the strategic retainer keep a senior head at your side, month after month: numbers reviewed, executive committee run, decisions challenged before they get expensive.

Retention
03 · Our technology edge

AI in the kitchen, not in the shop window.

Plenty of firms sell "AI". We use it. Our own tools (financial analysis, monitoring, deliverable production, company memory) run on an infrastructure we built and operate every day, in production, on our own mandates.

That is what lets us offer clients a decision infrastructure that is already proven: we install in your business what already works in ours, not a prototype, not a promise.

"An AI tool that is not plugged into your real data and adopted by your real team is an expense. Not a lever."

Simon Bertrand, founder, SBC Momentum
Plugged into your real data.

Accounting, sales, operations: AI is only worth the context you give it. We always start by structuring the data.

Adopted by your team.

Every tool deployment includes adoption and alignment work. A tool nobody uses after 90 days is a failure, no matter how sophisticated.

Governed from day one.

Confidentiality, access control, traceability: data governance is not an option you bolt on afterwards.

04 · The core conviction

No tool survives a misaligned leadership team.

The best dashboard in the world is useless if the founder and the directors are not pulling in the same direction. It is the most expensive lesson of our operating years, and the reason human alignment is built into every one of our mandates.

Tensions get named

One-on-one interviews with the founder, partners and directors before any structuring worksite: what goes unsaid in meetings always ends up costing money.

Decisions get closed

Governance rituals, clear responsibilities, tracking of active decisions: a leadership meeting that doesn't close topics is not a control ritual.

Adoption gets measured

Every new tool or process has an adoption plan with milestones at 30, 60 and 90 days. What is not measured gets quietly abandoned.

The frame protects the relationship

Written scope, named deliverables, clear terms, an end-of-mandate debrief: contractual transparency is not bureaucracy, it is respect.

05 · Our commitments

What you can count on.

Seniors only: you work with the partners, from the first call to the last deliverable
A written frame before any work: scope, deliverables, calendar, investment by custom quote
